The English Oak tree is a well-known stately shade tree with a broad spreading habit and short, thick trunk.
A majestic tree and an excellent feature for larger properties and parks, however, can be used effectively in urban areas where there is space to reach its full potential.
Considered to be one of the most valuable timber trees.
After purchasing these beauties in a juvenile state from award-winning Fleming’s Nurseries in Melbourne, they have been grown and nurtured at Winwood Advanced Tree nursery in Gordon, Victoria.

FOLIAGE
Dark green to bluish green, round lobed leaves with a distinctive auriculate (ear-like) projection near the narrow base. Autumn colour yellowish green to yellowish brown, with the dead leaves usually persisting on the branches well into Winter.
CULTURE
Handles a wide range of site conditions, moderate drought, air pollution and wind but prefers a slightly acidic, well-drained soil and a position in full sun. Powdery mildew can be problematic at times.
FLOWERS
Greenish-yellow, male catkins form in late Winter to early Spring.
FRUIT
Acorns to approximately 2.5cm long, solitary or in groups of up to seven on a slender stalk.
SIZE
The English Oak grows to 11m x 11m in size.
