An eye-catching, golden-foliaged Elm with a wide spreading habit. Ulmus Glabra ‘Lutescens’ is a very impressive shade tree that can create foliage contrast in larger parks, gardens and properties where there is space for it to develop to its full potential.

After purchasing these beauties in a juvenile state from award-winning Fleming’s Nurseries in Melbourne, they have been grown and nurtured at Winwood Advanced Tree nursery in Gordon, Victoria.

FOLIAGE

Bright greenish-gold, broadly obovate leaves up to 16cm long, turning yellow in autumn. Rough to touch on the upper surface. In spring, the new growth is a pale lime green.

CULTURE

Adaptable to a wide range of site conditions, but best in moist, well-drained soils. Good tolerance to air pollution. May require occasional irrigation in hot, dry conditions, but avoid waterlogged sites. Will generally not produce suckers unless damaged. Prone to attack by Elm Leaf Beetle and use of an integrated pest control regime is advised in areas its known to be present.
