The October Glory Red Maple is beautiful avenue tree that can transform a property. These trees also provide excellent shade, and their uniform growth habit makes this cultivar a superb tree for larger gardens, streets and public parks and gardens.
After purchasing these beauties in a juvenile state from award-winning Fleming’s Nurseries in Melbourne, they have been grown and nurtured at Winwood Advanced Tree nursery in Gordon, Victoria.

FOLIAGE
Lustrous, dark green five lobed leaves with red petioles and a greyish underside during summer. During early autumn, leaves turn a dark pinkish-red and become an effective background colour to complement the autumn tones of brilliant red-orange to pinkish lipstick-red. The leaf underside become greyish-pink adding further interest to the display.
CULTURE
Tolerates warmer conditions better than other red maple cultivars providing soil moisture is maintained. Adapts to a wide range of climatic and soil conditions including moderately wet soils. Autumn colour can be affected by soils and climate. Will not tolerate excessively dry or alkaline soils. Avoid any pruning in late winter and early spring.

Insignificant. Bright red in spring. Female.
FRUIT
Samaras, in pairs, often with red-tinged wings.
SIZE
The October Glory Red Maple grows to 12m x 9m in size.
